General Information for Luminaires and Lighting Systems

    Instructions for Use

Luminaires and lighting systems are used for the safe and efficient illumination of living spaces, offices, commercial areas, outdoor areas, and architectural applications. Use the luminaire exclusively according to its intended use and the technical specifications of the respective product.

    • The installation and electrical connection of permanently installed luminaires may only be carried out in compliance with the applicable safety regulations and exclusively when de-energized.
    • Only use suitable and compatible light sources, power supplies, control gear, adapters, and accessories according to the technical specifications.
    • Never exceed the permissible electrical load, power, or voltage of the respective lighting system.
    • For outdoor luminaires, pay attention to the indicated protection class (IP protection class) and only use them in suitable areas.
    • Rechargeable luminaires must be protected from extreme temperatures, open flames, and strong sunlight. Only charge rechargeable batteries with suitable chargers.
    • Damaged luminaires, cables, plugs, power supplies, or electrical components must not be operated further and must be replaced.
    • Do not cover luminaires during operation unless expressly intended by the manufacturer.
    • Keep ventilation openings and heat dissipation surfaces clear to ensure adequate cooling.

    Care and cleaning instructions

Regular and proper cleaning contributes to the long service life, optimal light output, and preservation of the high-quality surfaces of luminaires and lighting systems.

    • Before any cleaning, switch off the luminaire and completely disconnect it from the power supply or charger.
    • Allow luminaires and lamps to cool sufficiently before cleaning.
    • Clean housings, covers, shades, reflectors, and track systems with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
    • Regularly remove dust and dirt to ensure optimal light output.
    • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, abrasive cleaners, alcohol-based cleaners, solvents, or sharp objects, as these can damage surfaces, coatings, and seals.
    • Electrical contacts, plug connections, and electronic components must not come into contact with water or other liquids.
    • For outdoor luminaires, seals, screw connections, and fasteners should be regularly checked for a secure fit and damage.
    • Battery-powered luminaires should be charged regularly if not used for extended periods to preserve battery life.

    Disposal instructions

Luminaires, LED modules, electrical components, power supplies, ballasts, track lights, and accessories with electronic components must not be disposed of with normal household waste.

    • Return used electrical appliances to designated collection and take-back points for waste electrical and electronic equipment.
    • Rechargeable batteries and batteries must be disposed of separately from the luminaire at appropriate collection points.
    • Packaging materials such as cardboard, paper, and suitable plastics should be directed to the respective recycling cycle.
    • Observe national and local regulations for the environmentally sound disposal of electrical and electronic equipment.

Proper disposal allows for the recovery of valuable raw materials and reduces environmental pollution. Please also refer to our disposal instructions
